Laurel Hill: Edward G. Pettit Presents "Edgar and George"

Edward G.Pettit presents "Edgar and George" about the friendship between Edgar Allan Poe and George Lippard.

Witty and engaging, literary critic Edward G Pettit is a respected authority on Lippard, Poe and other Philadelphia Gothic authors. In addition, he served as the Charles Dickens Ambassador for the Free Library of Philadelphia’s year-long Bicentenary celebration of the author’s birth in 2012 and wrote the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion’s 2013 murder mystery play, Twisted, where he played Dickens. 

Part of the 2015 lecture series hosted by the City of Philadelphia's Parks & Recreation (PP&R) Department and held at various historic house museums in Fairmount Park. Cost of each program is $15; free for students with accompanying adult. Light refreshments served. Free parking.
